Bio

Zoe is a Master's student developing a remote control interface and workstation to simulate in-EVA robotic operation on a planetary surface. Her research emphasizes the connection between an EVA glove to a robotic controller and visual feedback in order to successfully remote-control a robot. Her work will include the study of topics such as teleoperation, tool incorporation, muscle fatigue, and mechanical design.

Zoe’s work in the HRVIP lab began during her undergraduate career at UC Davis, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Her contributions include the development and manufacturing of several pieces of hardware connecting CubeSats, cameras, and various sensors to robust robotic arms, as well as the manufacturing and installation of several miniature kinematic replica controllers of the lab’s larger UR5e robots. She has also provided support on several Zero-G flight research campaigns.

In her free time, Zoe loves to read, watch movies, and listen to music. And you can often find her climbing the walls at the Rocknasium climbing gym downtown!
