Mahima is a Second year Masters student studying Computer Science at UC Davis. Her research focuses on developing computer vision systems that help robotic arms navigate and operate autonomously in indoor agriculture environments for space missions. She works with depth-sensing cameras and visual markers to enable 3D localization of hydroponic plant systems using Python, OpenCV, Open3D and MeshLab. Additionally, she is working on integrating segmentation and vision transformer models to enhance plant detection and monitoring under changing growth conditions.
She brings prior experience in designing and developing production level software applications from scratch in multiple startups, where she also integrated algorithmic models into workflows that are easy to scale and deploy. Alongside her academic pursuits, she likes solving leetcode problems, playing guitar and working out at the gym.
