Bio

Kholoud is a fourth-year Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering double-major. In the past, she invented an eco-friendly, hybrid VTOL hovercraft technology, which was recently patented in 5 different countries as a futuristic means of transportation. Additionally, for the past year at UC Davis, she worked in the Manufacturing and Sustainable Technologies Research (MASTeR) Laboratory as an undergraduate researcher where she gained experience in independent experimental setups, sustainable 3D printing, material selection, machine design, and manufacturing processes’ efficiency analysis.

As part of the HRVIP Lab, Kholoud plans to continue to feed her curiosity about space, the biomedical field, aircraft design, and manufacturing as a member of the aerodynamics and wind tunnel team. In addition to her role in the aerodynamics and wind tunnel team, Kholoud also aims to apply her experience in manufacturing to help support the manufacturing process of the space laundry project and future projects in the lab.

When she’s not completely immersed in her two usual orbits— the lab and school work—Kholoud joins the rest of humanity in enjoying the little things by making music, exploring nearby beaches, swimming, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.
