Anderson L.
Bio
Anderson is a fourth-year student double-majoring in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UC Davis with an interest in astronomy and satellite systems.
In the HRVIP lab, he works on the Orbital-HDD, focusing on implementing computer vision to provide live attitude estimates. These estimates are used to verify values provided by the inertial measurement unit, which are fed into an attitude control system. The purpose of the project is to implement a Model Predictive Control that uses hard disk drives as reaction wheels for CubeSat attitude control.
Anderson has previously worked in astronomy, where he identified and classified galaxies based on parameters such as age, mass, composition, and shape. He is also a member and team captain of the UC Davis Track and Field team, specializing in long jump and the 100m. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, bartending, and watching movies.
